Information About the Executive Board
The officers of the Executive Board of the New York Lactation Consultant Association voluntarily serve a two-year commitment. An officer must be a member of the New York Lactation Consultant Association (NYLCA) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). NYLCA members can vote for candidates for the positions of President, Vice-President,Secretary and Treasurer at the Annual General Meetings in June.
Tamara Hawkins completed her Family Nurse Practitioner studies at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Nursing degree from New York University. She has been an IBCLC for the past 10 years. Tamara currently runs Stork and Cradle which offers childbirth and breastfeeding education courses for expectant parents.
Tamara has worked as a labor and delivery nurse, childbirth educator and lactation consultant in the following medical centers: NYP-Cornell, NYP-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, Mount Sinai, NYU- Langone and Elizabeth Seton Childbearing Center before starting her own private practice.
Annie Frisbie is a Registered Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) practicing in Queens and Brooklyn. She is a member of ILCA , NYLCA and board certified through IBLCE .
Information About Coordinators
Coordinator and Directors are appointed by the officers of the Executive Board to fulfill specific long-term tasks that require a substantial time commitment.
Please contact the Executive Board if you have ideas about creating additional coordinator positions and/or creating a revenue source to sustain such positions.

Information About Liaisons
Liaison positions are voluntary and approved by officers of the Executive Board. A liaison must be a member of the New York Lactation Consultant Association (NYLCA) and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Information About Committees
Committees are formed based on interest and need and approved by the officers of the Executive Board. Committee Chairs and Members are voluntary positions. A committee chair or committee member must also be a member of the New York Lactation Consultant Association (NYLCA).
